Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2024

This section applies if—

a practitioner administration decision is in effect for an individual; and

the individual’s administering practitioner is in possession of an approved substance; and

any of the following happen:

the individual revokes the practitioner administration decision;

the individual dies from any cause;

the administering practitioner is satisfied that the substance is not suitable for administration to the individual.

The administering practitioner—

may possess the approved substance for the purpose mentioned in paragraph (b); and

must give the approved substance to an approved disposer as soon as practicable, but not later than 14 days after the day of whichever event mentioned in subsection (1) (c) happens.
