Contributions for delivery of funded aged care services—ongoing residential care
276 Contributions for delivery of funded aged care services—ongoing residential care
A registered provider delivering ongoing funded aged care services through the service group residential care to an individual on a day may charge the individual an amount (the resident contribution) for or in connection with those services.
Subject to section 284, the resident contribution charged to the individual for the day must not exceed the sum of:
the maximum daily amount of the resident contribution worked out for the day under section 277; and
such other amounts as are prescribed by, or worked out in accordance with, the rules.
If the registered provider does not, or is taken not to, deliver funded aged care services to the individual on the day, the registered provider must not charge the individual a resident contribution under this section for the day.
The registered provider may charge an individual certain amounts for a day on which the provider does not deliver funded aged care services to the individual: see sections 281 and 282.
Without limiting paragraph (2)(b), rules made for the purposes of that paragraph may provide that an amount may be charged for only a particular period.
