Movement of goods

In force

(1)

A biosecurity officer may:

(a)

give any of the following directions to a person in charge of the goods:

(i)

a direction not to move, deal with or interfere with the goods;

(ii)

a direction to move the goods, as soon as practicable, to a place specified by the biosecurity officer;

(iii)

any other direction relating to the movement of the goods; or

(b)

cause the goods to be moved to another place.

Civil penalty provision

(2)

A person who is given a direction under paragraph (1)(a) must comply with the direction.

Civil penalty: 300 penalty units.

Note:

A person may contravene a civil penalty provision for moving, dealing with or interfering with goods in relation to which a direction relating to movement has been given under paragraph (1)(a) or that have been moved under paragraph (1)(b) (see section 130).
