15 Period for making a decision on a permit application—extension for competent authority consents

If, at the end of the 35th day of the decision period for an application for a special export permit, either:

(a)

the competent authority of the importing country for the permit has neither given nor refused written consent to the grant of the permit; or

(b)

a competent authority of a transit country (if any) for the waste to which the application relates has neither given nor refused written consent to the grant of the permit;

the decision period is extended until the end of 5 working days after the latest day such a refusal or consent is given by a competent authority covered by paragraph (a) or (b).

Note:

For the requirement to notify the competent authority of the importing country and the competent authority of any transit countries, see subregulation 12(4).
