1 Definitions
In this Schedule—
for-profit provider means an approved provider operating an education and care service—
with a view to profit; or
for the financial gain of—
the owner; or
another individual, other than a child or family member of a child accessing a service operated by the provider;
large provider means an approved provider that is a large child care provider within the meaning of section 4A of the A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999 of the Commonwealth;
not-for-profit provider means an approved provider that is not a for-profit provider;
small provider means an approved provider that is not a large provider;
stand-alone preschool service, in Victoria, means an education and care service that—
provides an early childhood educational program—
funded by the Victorian Government; and
that is delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher to children in the year that is 2 or 3 years before grade 1 of school; and
is not provided within, or in parallel with, a long day care service.
