140 Sharing of information between local councils and agencies
A local council may disclose to the Valuer-General or the Chief Commissioner information held by the local council—
in accordance with a requirement imposed on the local council by or under this Act, or
otherwise for the purposes of the administration or execution of this Act.
The Valuer-General may disclose to the Chief Commissioner or a local council information held by the Valuer-General for the purposes of the administration or execution of this Act.
The Chief Commissioner may disclose to the Valuer-General information held by the Chief Commissioner for the purposes of the administration or execution of this Act.
The Chief Commissioner may disclose to a local council information obtained by the Chief Commissioner in the exercise of functions under this Act for the purposes of the administration or execution of this Act.
The Valuer-General may collect information held by a local council or the Chief Commissioner, and use that information, for the purposes of the administration or execution of this Act.
The Chief Commissioner may collect information held by a local council or the Valuer-General, and use that information, for the purposes of the administration or execution of this Act.
This section applies despite section 11 of the Valuation of Land Act 1916.
This section does not limit section 82 of the Taxation Administration Act 1996.
In this section—
Chief Commissioner includes a person authorised by the Chief Commissioner.
local council includes a person authorised by a local council.
information includes personal information within the meaning of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
Valuer-General includes a person authorised by the Valuer-General.
