18 Appointment of authorised officers
(1)
The Secretary may appoint any person, or persons included in a class of persons, to be an authorised officer or authorised officers for the purposes of this Act.
(2)
The Secretary may, in and by the instrument of an authorised officer’s appointment, limit the functions that the authorised officer may exercise under this Act.
(3)
An authorised officer is, to the extent to which the authorised officer is exercising functions as an authorised officer under this Act, subject to the control and direction of the Secretary.
