Limitation period for prosecutions

(1)

Proceedings for an offence against this Act may not be brought later than 2 years after the day on which the offence was committed.

(2)

A proceeding for an offence may be brought after the end of the limitation period in subsection (1) if:

(a)

fresh evidence relevant to the offence is discovered; and

(b)

the court of competent jurisdiction is satisfied that the evidence could not reasonably have been discovered within the limitation period.

(3)

For subsection (1), if an offence is committed on more than 1 day, the period of time is to be counted from the last day.
