4 Composition of Committee
Subject to subregulation (2), the Committee is to consist of
7 members appointed by the Minister, of whom:
2 are to be employees within the meaning of the Public Sector
Employment and Management Act 1993;
one is to be an Aboriginal nominated by Murranwong-Gadgerong families with an interest in living areas in the Park;
one is to be an Aboriginal appointed from Aboriginal groups with an interest in the Park but not proposing to live in the Park; and
3 are to be persons with an interest in the Park.
A person who is a member of the Legislative Assembly or of either House of the Parliament of the Commonwealth is not eligible to be appointed or to hold office as a member.
As soon as practicable after an appointment under subregulation (1) has been made, the Minister shall cause notice of the appointment to be published in the Gazette.
Subject to regulations 5 and 6, a member holds office for 3 years but is eligible for reappointment.
The performance of a function or the exercise of a power of the
Committee is not affected by reason only of there being a vacancy in the office of a member.
