Keep River National Park Local Management Committee Regulations 1992

The Committee is, in the performance of its functions and the exercise of its powers, subject to the Act and to the plan of management for the Park.

The functions of the Committee are to advise the Commission on issues relevant to the management of the Park, including but not limited to:

the planning and development of works and facilities in the Park;

the formulation of commercial and tourist programs and development in the Park;

the protection of the Park against damage, including safety measures and fire control in the Park;

the development of staff training programs for persons employed in the Park;

the development of programs for the protection, conservation and management of native flora and fauna, and the environment generally, in the Park and for the elimination of feral animals and weeds from the Park;

the promotion of a knowledge and understanding of and respect for

Aboriginal traditional languages, culture, customs and skills, and the protection and recording of sites and areas of spiritual or other significance to Aboriginals in the Park; and

the determination of guidelines for sporting activities, camping and the establishment of camping sites, if any, and for the control of vehicular traffic and the use of boats in the Park.

The Committee has power to do all things that are necessary or convenient to be done for or in connection with, or incidental to the performance of, its functions.
