7.06 Time for service
(1)
A statement of claim is valid for service for 6 months after the date on which it is filed.
(2)
If a statement of claim has not been served on a defendant, the
Court may order that the validity be extended for a period of not more than 6 months from the day of the order.
(3)
An application for an extension under subrule (2) is to be made on or before the day on which a statement of claim ceases to be valid and no order for an extension is to be made after a statement of claim ceases to be valid.
(4)
Subject to subrules (2) and (3), the Court may make further orders extending the validity of a statement of claim.
