443C Offering or giving benefit, or causing or threatening detriment, to engage in match-fixing conduct or match-fixing arrangement
(1)
A person who, as an inducement for any person to engage in, or to procure any other person to engage in, match-fixing conduct or participate in a match-fixing arrangement in relation to a sporting event or the happening of a sporting contingency—
(a)
offers or gives any person a pecuniary benefit; or
(b)
causes, or offers or threatens to cause, a pecuniary detriment to any person;
commits a crime.Maximum penalty—10 years imprisonment.
(2)
For subsection (1), it does not matter whether any person engages in the match-fixing conduct. sch 1 pt 6 div 1 ch 43 s 443C ins 2014 No. 39 s 30
