Interactive Gambling (Player Protection) Act 1998

The Minister must promptly give a copy of the show cause notice to—

each participating regulator; and

each person (an interested person) the Minister believes has an interest in the interactive gambling licence if the Minister considers—

the person’s interest may be affected adversely by the suspension or cancellation of the licence; and

it is otherwise appropriate in the circumstances to give the copy of the notice to the person.

In considering whether it is appropriate to give a copy of the show cause notice to an interested person, the issues to which the Minister may have regard include the following—

the nature of the interested person’s interest;

whether the licensed provider’s interest may be improperly prejudiced.

A person to whom a copy of the show cause notice is given may make representations about the notice to the Minister in the show cause period.
