Definitions for chapter

In force

In this chapter—

associated person, for an investigated entity, means—

(a)

if the investigated entity is an entity other than an individual—

(i)

an officer, employee or contractor or former officer, employee or contractor of the entity; or

(ii)

a related body corporate of the entity; or

(iii)

an officer, employee or contractor or former officer, employee or contractor of the related body corporate; or

(b)

if the investigated entity is a law practice—

(i)

an associate of the law practice; or

(ii)

a barrister briefed by the law practice in relation to a claim the commissioner reasonably suspects is connected to a contravention of the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002, section 71 or 71B; or

(iii)

a related body corporate of the law practice; or

(iv)

an officer, employee or contractor or former officer, employee or contractor of the related body corporate; or

(c)

if the investigated entity is a lawyer—a barrister briefed by the lawyer in relation to a claim the commissioner reasonably suspects is connected to a contravention of the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002, section 71 or 71B.

investigated entity see section 581C(1).

special investigator means a person appointed as a special investigator under section 581C.
