Second-hand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 2003

A pawnbroker must keep a printed or an electronic register of property taken as a pawn by the pawnbroker (property register) in a way prescribed under a regulation, for each authorised place for the pawnbroker’s licence.Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.

The pawnbroker must, before or immediately after the pawnbroker gives a person money for property taken as a pawn from the person, enter in the property register for the place the particulars prescribed under a regulation for the pawned property.Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
