Meaning of tow truck

In force

(1)

A tow truck is a motor vehicle—

(a)

that is—

(i)

equipped with a lifting or loading device; andExamples of a lifting or loading device—

a crane, hoist or winch

(ii)

capable of being used for the towing of a motor vehicle; or

(b)

to which is attached, temporarily or otherwise, a trailer that is—

(i)

equipped with a lifting or loading device; and

(ii)

capable of being used for the towing of a motor vehicle.

(2)

In this Act, a reference to a tow truck includes the following things—

(a)

a lifting or loading device on the tow truck;

(b)

a trailer attached to the tow truck and any lifting or loading device on the trailer.

(3)
