61 Role of contact person in case of self-administration decision
This section applies if the person makes a self-administration decision.
The contact person for the person is authorised to—
receive the voluntary assisted dying substance from an authorised supplier; and
possess the substance for the purpose of paragraph (c) or (d); and
supply the substance to the person; and
give the substance, or any unused or remaining substance, to an authorised disposer under section 63.
The contact person for the person must inform the coordinating practitioner for the person if the person dies (whether as a result of self-administering the voluntary assisted dying substance or from some other cause), within 2 business days of becoming aware of the death.
The board may contact the contact person to request information.
