54C Application for order
An order under this Part may be made by the Court of its own motion if there are proceedings before the Court involving the relevant child, or may be made on application by—
if there are proceedings before the Court in which the relevant child is being prosecuted for an offence—a person authorised by the
Director of Public Prosecutions or the Commissioner of Police to make such applications; or
if there are proceedings before the Court under the
Children and Young People (Safety)
Act 2017, or any other child protection law, relating to the relevant child—the Chief Executive of the administrative unit of the
Public Service responsible for assisting a Minister in the administration of the Children and Young People (Safety)
Act 2017; or
in any case—
a family member of the relevant child; or
the person holding or acting in the office of Public Advocate under the Guardianship and Administration
Act 1993; or
an officer of the Department; or
the Chief Executive of the administrative unit of the Public
Service responsible for assisting a Minister in the administration of the
Youth Justice Administration
Act 2016; or
a medical practitioner who is providing treatment to the relevant child in relation to the child's use of controlled drugs; or
a person who satisfies the Court that he or she has a proper interest.
