81 General power of exemption of Commission
The Commission may, if it thinks fit—
extend any limitation of time prescribed by or under this Act whether or not the prescribed period has expired; or
exempt a person from the obligation to comply with any provision of this Act.
An extension or exemption under subsection (1) may be granted by the Commission on such conditions as it thinks fit.
A person must not contravene or fail to comply with a condition imposed by the Commission under subsection (2). Maximum penalty: Maximum penalty: $5 000.
The Commission may, at any time by instrument in writing, revoke or vary an extension or exemption under subsection (1).
