24 Equipment to be maintained and inspected
A person who keeps pigs must ensure that all mechanical equipment that is necessary – for the provision of food and water to a pig in the person’s care or charge; and to control the temperature and ventilation of the environment that is accommodating that pig – is inspected daily and maintained in good working order. In the case of – a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units; or a natural person, a fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
A person who keeps pigs must ensure that all equipment to which a pig in the person’s care or charge may have access is designed and maintained to minimise, as far as is possible, risk of injury to, or the death of, the pig. In the case of – a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units; or a natural person, a fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
