16 Coroner's officers
A coroner's officer must – assist a coroner in carrying out the coroner's duties under this Act; and comply with any guidelines issued by the Chief Magistrate; and carry out all reasonable directions of a coroner.
A police officer is, by virtue of his or her office, a coroner's officer and has the same functions and powers as are conferred or imposed on a coroner's officer by this Act.
A coroner's officer may – administer an oath or affirmation; and take an affidavit.
