79 Cancellation of registration
The Commissioner may cancel the registration of a firearm if the registrant – is no longer the holder of a licence in respect of that firearm; or made a false or misleading statement in connection with the application for registration; or is convicted of an offence under this Act or a prescribed offence; or requests the cancellation.
The Commissioner is to cancel the registration of a firearm by notice in writing served on the registrant.
Cancellation of the registration of a firearm takes effect on the date on which the notice is served under subsection (2).
If the registration of a firearm is cancelled, the person in whose name it was registered must immediately surrender it to a police officer.
A police officer may seize any firearm to which a cancelled registration relates.
