Major Infrastructure Development Approvals Act 1999

Land acquired by the Crown under the Land Acquisition Act 1993 for the purposes of a major infrastructure project may not be sold unless –

the sale of that land has been authorised under section 10(3)(h) or notice of the proposed sale has been published and approved by each House of Parliament in accordance with section 64 of the Crown Lands Act 1976; and a permit has been granted for a use or development comprised in the major infrastructure project to take place on the land and – the period specified under section 61 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 for appealing the decision of the planning authority to grant the permit has expired and no appeal has been lodged; or where such an appeal has been lodged, the appeal has been determined.
