Mineral Resources Development Act 1995

A licence, unless revoked earlier or unless the term of the licence is extended under section 25, is in force–

for a period of 5 years from the date on which the application is granted, in respect of Category 1, 2 and 3 minerals; or for a period the Minister determines from the date on which the application is granted, in respect of Category 4 minerals; or for a period of 5 years from the date on which the application for the licence is granted, in respect of Category 5 minerals or Category 6 minerals.
