Part 8Renewal and Termination of Retail Leases
60 Renewal of retail leases
This Part applies to a retail lease under which an option exists to renew or extend the lease, with or without a rent review.
A retail lease that does not provide for an ultimate expiry date to renew or extend the lease, with or without a rent review, expires in accordance with the provisions of that retail lease.
If, after a retail lease has expired, the parties to the retail lease wish to enter into a new retail lease, the new lease is subject to the provisions of this Act as if the lease were being entered into by the landlord and the tenant for the first time.
