108 Investigations

The Recorder must make such investigations as the Recorder considers necessary for the proper determination of an application for relief under this Part.

The Recorder may (but need not) hold a hearing for the purpose of receiving evidence and representations.

In conducting an investigation, the Recorder – must proceed as expeditiously and with as little formality and technicality as is consistent with the requirements of this Act and the proper investigation of the matter; and is not bound by the rules of evidence and may gather information in any way the Recorder considers appropriate; and may, subject to this Act and the rules of natural justice, determine the procedures to be followed.
