158 Exempted vehicles

The Registrar, by notice in the Gazette, may exempt a vehicle, or a class of vehicles, from this Part.

Without limiting the generality of subregulation (1), the Registrar may exempt any one or more of the following vehicles from this Part:a farm, construction or other vehicle that the Registrar considers to be unlikely to be used regularly on public streets; an ambulance; a vehicle designed or adapted for use and used exclusively in, or in connection with, fire-fighting operations.

A notice under this regulation is not a statutory rule for the purposes of the Rules Publication Act 1953.
