15 Trailer drawbar length
A person must not use, or cause or permit the use of, a dog trailer if the distance between the coupling pivot point on the drawbar of the trailer and the centre-line of the front axle group or of the front single axle of the trailer exceeds 5 metres. In the case of – a first offence, a fine not exceeding 20 penalty units; or a subsequent offence, a fine not exceeding 40 penalty units.
A person must not use, or cause or permit the use of, a pig trailer if the distance between the coupling pivot point on a drawbar of the trailer and the centre-line of the axle group or single axle on the trailer exceeds 8.5 metres. In the case of – a first offence, a fine not exceeding 20 penalty units; or a subsequent offence, a fine not exceeding 40 penalty units.
