38 Application for permit
A person may apply to the Commission for a permit exempting the person, a specified vehicle or specified combination from these regulations or specified provisions of them, or the Vehicle Standards or specified provisions of them.
An application for a permit – is to be in a form approved by the Commission; and must contain the information required in the approved form; and is to be lodged with the Commission; and is to be accompanied by any third-party authorities or consents required by the Commission; and is to be accompanied by any evidence required by the Commission.
Before granting or refusing to grant an application for a permit, the Commission may request the applicant to provide such further information and documents as the Commission considers relevant.
On receipt of an application for a permit, the Commission may – grant the application; or refuse to grant the application.
