Members of the Council

111 Members of the Council

(1)

The Council consists of—

(a)

the State Coroner; and

S. 111(1)(b) amended by No. 34/2024 s. 49.

(b)

the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute; and

(c)

the Chief Commissioner of Police; and

(d)

5 to 7 other members appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Attorney-General.

(2)

A member of the Council appointed under subsection (1)(d)—

(a)

holds office for the term, not exceeding 3 years, that is specified in his or her instrument of appointment; and

(b)

is eligible for re-appointment; and

(c)

may resign from office by delivering a letter of resignation to the Attorney-General; and

(d)

is entitled to the remuneration and allowances specified in the instrument of appointment and to be reimbursed for expenses.

(3)

The Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Attorney-General, must appoint a member appointed under subsection (1)(d) to be the Chairperson of the Council.
