5 Meaning of geothermal energy exploration
Geothermal energy exploration is the carrying out of one or more of the following activities for the purpose of finding geothermal energy or geothermal energy resources—
(a)
conducting geological, geophysical, hydrogeological and geochemical surveys;
(b)
drilling;
(c)
taking samples for the purposes of chemical, thermal or other analysis;
(d)
extracting geothermal energy or geothermal energy resources for the purpose of determining whether it will be viable to extract the energy or resources commercially.
