Offence in relation to seized or taken property

In force

(1)

A person must not dispose of, remove, damage or interfere with any thing seized or taken under this Act except in accordance with this Act.

For a first offence, 50 penalty units.

For a subsequent offence, 100 penalty units or 12 months imprisonment or both.

(2)

If a court convicts a person of an offence against subsection (1) or finds a person guilty of an offence against subsection (1), the court may in addition to any penalty imposed under that subsection, order the person to pay compensation for any damage or loss caused by the offence to any person.
