Object of Part

In force

The object of this Part is to allow for the taking into custody and detention of an adult for a period not exceeding 4 days, or a child for a period not exceeding 36 hours, in order to—

(a)

prevent a terrorist act that is capable of being carried out, and could occur, within the next 14 days; or

(b)

preserve evidence of, or relating to, a recent terrorist act.
