8 Eligibility to be appointed as a Tribunal member
Subject to subsection (2), a person is eligible to be appointed as a Tribunal member only if the person has extensive or specialist knowledge, expertise or experience in one or more of the following fields—
Government;
community affairs;
economics;
human resource management;
industrial relations;
law;
public administration;
public finance;
public sector ethics;
any other field the Minister considers relevant.
Despite subsection (1), a person is not eligible to be appointed as a Tribunal member if the person—
nominates for election as a Member or is elected as a Member; or

is employed as an executive in a prescribed public entity or as an executive in a public service body; or
S. 8(2)(c) inserted by No. 9/2020 s. 382(b).
is a candidate for election as a Councillor or is elected as a Councillor; or
S. 8(2)(d) inserted by No. 9/2020 s. 382(b).
is employed as a Chief Executive Officer of a Council or member of Council staff.
