145A Local government functions
A local government that is a permit authority, when referring an uncertified application under section 17(1), is not limited to referring the uncertified application to a building surveyor who is employed by the local government.
A local government may issue a certificate that complies with section 19, 56 or 57 and that is signed by a building surveyor who is employed by the local government, whether or not —
the building or incidental structure that is the subject of the application is, or is proposed to be, located in the local government’s district; or
the applicant is an owner or occupier of land in the local government’s district.
Nothing in this section affects the operation of —
section 20(1)(d) or 58(1)(b); or
the Local Government Act 1995 section 3.18, 3.19 or 3.68 or any other relevant provision of that Act.
