Appointing returning officers

In force

(1)

The Electoral Commissioner must appoint, in writing —

(a)

a returning officer for the whole of State electorate; and

(b)

a returning officer for each district.

(2)

A returning officer appointed under subsection (1) is taken to have been appointed on the day of the appointing instrument unless another day is specified in the appointing instrument as the day of appointment.
