330 Prohibition against associating with persons in possession of firearms and other things
A prohibited person commits a crime if the person is in company with a person who is in possession of any of the following —
a firearm;
a major firearm part;
ammunition.
Penalty for this subsection: imprisonment for 7 years.
A prohibited person commits a crime if the person is in company with a person who is in possession of any of the following —
a handgun;
a prohibited firearm;
a major firearm part of a handgun or prohibited firearm;
a prohibited accessory.
Penalty for this subsection: imprisonment for 14 years.
It is a defence to a charge of an offence under subsection (1) or (2) of being in company with a person who is in possession of a firearm or related thing to prove that the accused did not know, and could not reasonably be expected to have known, that the person was in possession of a firearm or related thing.
