Duty of confidentiality overridden

In force

If a registrant discloses information to the Commissioner in connection with the carrying out of the Commissioner’s functions under this Act —

(a)

neither the registrant nor any lobbyist listed under that registrant incurs any civil or criminal liability in respect of the disclosure; and

(b)

the disclosure is not to be regarded as a breach, by the registrant or any lobbyist listed under that registrant, of —

(i)

any duty of confidentiality or secrecy imposed by law; or

(ii)

professional ethics or standards;

and

(c)

the disclosure is not to be regarded as unprofessional conduct.
