Purposes

In force

The purposes of this Act are —

(a)

to introduce, in respect of any prescribed charge payable, a method by which —

(i)

the rebate, or deferral of payment, allowable by administrative authorities to pensioners; and

(ii)

the rebates allowable to seniors; and

(iii)

questions of eligibility; and

(iv)

the determination of entitlements,

may for the future be rationalised and inequities eliminated; and

(b)

to enable the Minister to ensure that the administrative requirements involved in —

(i)

the determination and allowance of rebates or deferrals by administrative authorities; and

(ii)

reimbursement, or the provision of financial assistance, by the Minister,

are kept to a minimum.
