The Board, on an application under section 6(1), must renew the registration of a person in a particular category if the Board is satisfied that the person —

continues to meet the requirements described in Division 2 for registration in that category; and

is complying with the conditions (if any) to which the person’s registration is subject; and

has met any requirements for the renewal of registration prescribed in respect of that category of registration.

If a person applies under section 6(1) before the day on which the person’s registration expires but the Board does not give the person notice of its decision on the application on or before that day, the person’s registration is taken to continue in force from that day until the day on which the Board gives the person notice of its decision.

If a person does not apply under section 6(1) before the day on which the person’s registration expires, the person’s registration is taken to continue in force until —

the end of the period of 1 month after that day; or

if the person applies under section 6(1) within the period referred to in paragraph (a), the day on which the Board gives the person notice of its decision on the application.
