28 Offence—disclosure of information by members etc
This section applies to—
a person who is or has been—
a member of the council or a commission; or
a member of the staff of the council; or
a member of the staff of a commission; or
a lawyer assisting the council or a commission; and
any other person who has or has had access to information by virtue of that person’s office or employment under or for this Act.
A person to whom this section applies must not, either directly or indirectly, except in the exercise of a function under or for this Act or the Integrity Commission Act 2018, section 59 (Other entities may refer corruption complaints)—
make a record of, or divulge or communicate to any person, any information acquired by the firstmentioned person by virtue of that person’s office or employment under or for this Act or the Integrity Commission Act 2018, section 59 (Other entities may refer corruption complaints); or
make use of any such information; or
produce to any person, or permit any person to have access to, a document provided for this Act or the Integrity Commission Act 2018, section 59 (Other entities may refer corruption complaints).
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units, imprisonment for 6 months or both.
