15 Contact—general considerations
In exercising a function under this part, the director-general must ensure the following are balanced appropriately:
the benefits of patients maintaining contact with family, friends and others;
the need to protect the privacy of patients;
the need to protect the safety of patients, mental health officers, authorised health practitioners, authorised people and other people who work at or visit a secure mental health facility;
the need for security and good order at a secure mental health facility;
the need to prevent prohibited things entering a secure mental health facility;
anything else the director-general considers on reasonable grounds to be relevant.
