16 Applications for registration

(1)

An individual may apply to the registrar for registration as a professional engineer for 1 or more areas of engineering (an application for registration).

(2)

An application for registration must—

(a)

be in writing; and

(b)

state the applicant’s name; and

(c)

include the applicant’s contact details; and

(d)

state the area of engineering for which the applicant is applying to be registered; and

(e)

include a report from an assessment entity that assesses the person’s qualifications, experience and competencies for the area of engineering; and

(f)

include the results of a criminal history check for the applicant; and

(g)

include the suitability information about the applicant; and

(h)

include any information prescribed by regulation.

(3)

The registrar may refuse to consider an application for registration that does not comply with subsection (2).
