25 Cutting, alteration etc of earmark
(1)
A person commits an offence if—
(a)
in earmarking stock, the person cuts off more than ¼ of the ear; or
(b)
the person alters or destroys a stock earmark.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
(2)
A person commits an offence if—
(a)
for male or desexed stock—the person earmarks the right ear; or
(b)
for female stock—the person earmarks the left ear.
Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
(3)
An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
