49 Further information about complaint etc
The board may require the complainant to give the board—
further information about the complaint; or
a statement verifying all or part of the complaint.
Note It is an offence to make a false or misleading statement, give false or misleading information or produce a false or misleading document (see Criminal Code, pt 3.4).
When making a requirement under this section, the board must set a reasonable period of time within which the requirement is to be satisfied, and may extend that period, whether before, on or after its expiry.
If the person fails to give a statement verifying all or part of the complaint—
the failure does not affect the making of the complaint; but
the board need not take any further action on the complaint.
