Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance) Act 2016

In this Act:

close family member, of a primary victim, means a person who is in 1 of the following relationships:

the domestic partner of the primary victim;

a parent, guardian or step-parent of the primary victim;

a child or stepchild of the primary victim, or some other child of whom the primary victim is the guardian.

In this section:

guardian does not include the director-general responsible for administering the Children and Young People Act 2008 or any other person who is a guardian because of the person’s occupation of a statutory office, whether within the ACT or elsewhere.

Division 3.1 Eligibility

Note In addition to financial assistance, a person may also be eligible for a funeral expense payment.
