5.25 Temporary stay for certain communication or conduct

(1)

If a party (the first party) to a proceeding, or a person acting with the authority of the first party, engages in communication with, or conduct towards:

(a)

another party to the proceedings; or

(b)

a Judge or an officer of the Court; or

(c)

a member of the staff of the Court;

in a manner that is abusive, threatening, unduly repetitious or otherwise inappropriate, the Court may, on its own motion, order that the conduct of any application for relief by the first party in the proceedings be stayed for a specified period of up to 6 months.

(2)

Subrule (1) does not limit any other power of the Court, including the power of the Court to make orders to prevent abuse of process or to protect the Court’s processes.
