106KC Notification by Committee to Director of matters of concern to profession

(1)

If, in the course of the Committee’s investigation, the Committee becomes aware of any matter that the Committee considers to be of concern to the profession of which the practitioner who rendered or initiated the referred services is a member, the Committee must notify the Director in writing of that matter so that it may be considered by the Chief Executive Medicare or another appropriate authority or body.

(2)

If such a notification is made, the Director must give particulars of the matter to the Chief Executive Medicare or another appropriate authority or body.

(3)

This section applies as if:

(a)

a reference in this section to a practitioner included a reference to a person who has been a practitioner; and

(b)

a reference in this section to a practitioner being a member of a profession included a reference to a person who has been a member of that profession.
