61A Life sentences
(1)
This section applies to a sentence of imprisonment for life for an offence if proceedings for the offence commenced on or after 12 January 1990.
Note—
On 12 January 1990, the Crimes (Life Sentences) Amendment Act 1989 commenced.
(2)
The person subject to the sentence must serve the sentence for the term of the person’s natural life.
