Conferring of higher education award by overseas higher education institution etc.

In force

(1)

An overseas higher education institution must not confer, or hold out that the institution is authorised to confer, a higher education award unless:

(a)

the institution is the subject of an approval under section 14;

and

(b)

under the approval, the institution may offer the course leading to the award.

Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 200 penalty units.

If the offender is a body corporate – 1 000 penalty units.

(2)

A person must not hold out that an overseas higher education institution is authorised to confer a higher education award unless:

(a)

the institution is the subject of an approval under section 14;

and

(b)

under the approval, the institution may offer the course leading to the award.

Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 200 penalty units.

If the offender is a body corporate – 1 000 penalty units.
